Buying laddu online in India

Laddu, ladoo, ladu — however it is spelled where you are from, it means the same round sweet that shows up at every festival, every puja and every celebration in an Indian home. What changes is what goes inside: roasted gram flour for besan ladu, pale-gold moong dal for moong ladu, fenugreek and edible gum for the winter methi ladu, and no flour at all for our dry fruits ladu.

If you are unsure where to begin, besan is the familiar one and moong is the gentlest. If you are buying to gift, the dry fruit ladu and the dates and nuts bites travel best. Our guide to the types of Indian laddu goes into the differences properly.
